For general street views I work within the law that states photography in public places, in the UK at least, is legal.
I have yet to discover any law that states that photography in public places is legal. Which law is that?
My understanding is that it is ok to do anything you wish UNLESS there is a law that says you can't.

There are no Sigma 70-210mm lenses listed on the PentaxForums legacy zoom database ..... link
They are there; you just have to scroll down a long way

The Sigma 70-210 F4-5.6 UC II gets the lower score of 6.33, link, the Sigma 70-210 F4-5.6 UC the higher score of 7.22, link.

As far as social media is concerned, the DPA applies to organisations, not individuals, provided the individual observes the following;.

The DPA contains an exemption for personal data that is processed by an individual for the purposes of their personal, family or household affairs. This exemption is often referred to as the ‘domestic purposes’ exemption. It will apply whenever an individual uses an online forum purely for domestic purposes. 

The domestic purposes exemption does not cover organisational use of online forums. Organisations that use social media are therefore subject to the DPA in the normal way. 

The exemption also doesn’t apply when individuals process personal data for non-domestic purposes. Individuals who use social media for purposes such as running a sole trader business are subject to the DPA in the usual way. 

When an organisation, or individual acting for non-domestic purposes, posts personal data on a social networking site, message board or blog, they will need to ensure that they have complied with the DPA. The same applies if they download personal data from a social networking site and use it for non-domestic purposes.

I run my SDM lenses every few weeks regardless of whether they've had an outing. So far, touch wood, no problems.

Shame the kit lens on the KS2 doesn't seem great but body only prices are higher at the moment so there seems little point in avoiding it.
Which kit lens will you be getting? I presume the smc Pentax-DA L 18-50mm F4-5.6 DC WR RE? The K-S2 can also come with the 18-135, albeit for around £200 more.

Pentax kit lenses have always had a reputation for being the best amongst the various marques, albeit any kit lens will not necessarily be as good as other non-kit lenses from the same stable, but you may be pleasantly surprised.

You can always sell it and buy something that will better match your needs when funds are available, or offer it for trade (plus £ adjustment) on this site against the older 18-55?

Call SRS now. They'll change it.

Welcome, and take a look here> http://kmp.bdimitrov.de/ or here> http://www.pentaxforums.com/forums/53-pentax-dslr-camera-articles/64298-pentax-l...

In short, all later Pentax bodies are compatible with all Pentax lenses, albeit you'll find for the older screw mount lenses you'll need an adapter to enable them to be mounted on the bayonet mount bodies.

I suggest the best way to get recommendations re suitable lenses is to give us an idea of what it is you want to shoot.

Was I dreaming or was the K-3 body only £499 the other day - about three days ago? Maybe I'm going mad but I'm sure it was!
Yes it was.
Could be worth checking directly with SRS, as both the 3 and 3II bodies are priced the same. Glitch?

Why no national Appeals? Red Cross etc. are quick off the mark if something happens elsewhere, but I've had the Devil's own job finding anywhere I could make a donation. Did in the end though. Go on the Gov.UK site and all you'll find is a note from the Charities Commission warning Charities not to breach their purpose, i.e. red-tape first.

When there's a natural disaster it impacts people. Surely it really doesn't matter where you are or whether you live in a so-called 1st, 2nd, 3rd or whatever World country?
