I seem to recall a similar issue with the K7 elsewhere in this Forum. Something to do with the camera being set up to correct lens issues - CA, etc.

Could the camera be recognising the 18-55 and trying to correct lens abberations, but not recognising the 70-300?

Assuming the individual file sizes from each set of shots are comparable, what about the time between shots for each? Could indicate the K7 is 'thinking'/working harder?

I've got the 70-300, and its a great budget lens. Only issue I've found with it, common to this lens generally it seems, is purple fringing in certain situations. Easily removed in Photoshop or Paint Shop Pro.

Worth checking prices before you buy, though, as the price you're quoting ($230?) is at the upper end of the price range for this lens in the UK.

I think you have to use the Pentax raw converter first to turn the .PEF files into JPGs. AFAIK Windows doesn't recognise .PEF files.

My problem is that some time ago a freind set me up with an external 500 Gig hard drive to back-up my computer; What I was too daft to grasp, being new to computers, was that every time I backed up everything was stored again, whether it was altered or not!
Bob, see my earlier post in this thread. Used Easy Duplicate Finder to resolve identical problem. Works simultaneously across multiple drives.

I use Easy Duplicate Finder link, but it really only works when the file name hasn't been changed. Up side, it's free

They do have another product - Duplicate Photo Finder - which I have't tried, but I think you have to pay for it, AND it doesn't support RAW files

Thanks Andy. Good work.

Being a little thick, however, can I clarify something?

With the K20D you can adjust AF globally, ie applies to all lenses, or individually.

I've made AF adjustments individually.

This debug method seems to apply global adjustment.

Once the global adjustment has been applied via the debug method, does this effectively alter the start point for any subsequent individual adjustments?

ie If I use debug to set the camera to -20 will I then be able to individually adjust lenses in the range -10 to -30, ie +/- 10 either side of -20?

I bought one of these link.

Also bought a couple of cheap AF 160 flashguns to mount on it and some connectors so they are both linked to my 'x' sync socket.

I confess I haven't tried it all out yet, so no idea what the results will be like.
