Perhaps, I did the test after I read from another member here that he had tested his K5 the same way. Maybe someone else would do a similar test of their K5?

edit: Found the thread. Look for posts from Tyr

edit 2: The DA* 50-135 seems to be internal zoom though so air sucking might not be the problem after all.
Thanks. Interesting reading. Makes me wonder, then, about the seals, and whether they're WR only when the camera is not being operated?

Gary did you use your zoom while it was raining/the camera was wet?

This is what happens when I zoom my K-5 with a DA 18-135mm WR. A lot of air gets sucked in and out from the rear of the camera.

Cheers,
Brian

I expect that will end it.

Barge-pole, touch, don't, with, a, it (re-arrange into a well known phrase or saying).

The scam relies on you feeling secure because the payment will appear in your account before the goods are sent, but the buyer uses a bent card or account, resulting in a charge-back from the bank, by which time your goods are long gone.

Offer to meet him at his place of employment and for him to pay cash. Bet he'll go very quiet/cancel at the last moment/have a death in the family, etc.

I have a solution which is a little different using one of these.

Basically it's a mini copier and it is a dream to use. Plug the USB lead from your camera into the 'copy from end' then plug pretty much anything in the other end which has a USB connector such as a card reader, disk drive, even an iPod or Android Phone in data mode) and it will copy without a computer.

The great thing is you are not tied to a single system - you can take whatever you need and have on that occasion (although it does have to be FAT32, not NTFS).
What a useful and cheap product! Nice that you could use your existing external hdds, or phone even.
I bought one of those a year or so ago. When I tried it, it took about 30 minutes to copy one photo. never used it since.
Mine runs at about 1Gb of data an hour. Ok, still slow, but depends how big a hurry you're in.

Just set it running then get on with taking shots using another card.

PANTONE hueyPRO or huey is also OK, but does not tests as many colours during the callibration as the Spyder does.

It is worth bearing in mind that colour can drift, even on LED monitors and that they should be callibrated every few months. Though a one off callibration will make a huge difference.

If you are using Windows 7, it might be worth considering a manual callibration.
I used a hueyPRO on a backlit LCD screen. Couldn't get rid of a nasty green colour cast; apparently well known for this. Returned the device.

I'd also check access in/around the Olympic Park.

What with the paranoid BS security lock downs*, etc around London near/at Olympic venues you might have problems if not actually attending the events, and if you are attending the events you'll have problems anyway -no cameras!

* As an example, the Stratford Westfield car-park is now closed until September.

York - The Shambles, Cathedral, Railway Museum, Castle, 'walk round the walls', and worth doing a Ghost Walk just for a bit of silly punter-style fun.
