The latest issue has a letter or two about Pentax in the letters section, with a more conciliatory reply than of late.

Sometimes I read things that seem really very strange but it's, I suppose, a consistent message not necessarily related only to Pentax. They do the same thing to Canon in the last issue, actually writing a long piece about the 5D series of cameras, all written in the past tense as though that line is finished and there won't be any more. Or might not be any more. It's a bit like saying that the next Pentax DSLR might be the last one ever. Well it might or might not be, but the positive way to look at it would be to celebrate the arrival of a new DSLR, not to assume that mirrorless is the way to go and that's the end of it.

I remember an interview of the late afternoon news on BBC Radio 4 some years ago. British Gas had just put up prices significantly. The boss was there to be grilled, but the first quaetion was, "Well, a price rise is justified isn't it?" I listened to the whole thing, finding it quite surreal that the interviewer was defending the position of the interviewee right from the start. It was very strange.

When did the world go quietly crazy?

That's interesting Kris, because I see a full widescreen filled with no empty space. There must be some setting somewhere that needs adjusting.

I suppose it depends on what you define as the purpose of a forum. I've always thought of the forum as a place for discussion, which can be illustrated with images if we wish, but the size is limited to improve the loading speed so people don't get fed up waiting for long threads to load. Bigger pictures can be uploaded in the gallery, which is intended for images plus maybe some comments on them.

Don't most forums limit the size of images? I'm not sure what aloocation of space PU have allocated, but I do know that I have rstricted the size on the ADAPS forum to a similar image size, to limit the size of our database. More space costs more money apart from anything else. The other issue is that if members host their own images instead of uploading into the forum or gallery then we end up after a while with huge gaps in the threads where they have not been maintained.

All this is my own personal opinion by the way, and not any insight into what the PU or EPZ are thinking.

Talking of milk, the other day I put out the milk bottles just after midnight and the milkman had just made his delivery for the morning. It's a good job it was colder than my fridge out there!

There's no doubt that works, the only downside being that the poster needs to maintain the image at that location. Older forum posts tend to be full of gaps where images used to be. There are lots of examples of this from the days when we used to enter competitions in the forum, rather than the gallery we use now.

I hope you mean pixels! I usually size forum pictures to 1000px on the longest side. This helps to speed up loading and seems fine. To be honest, the image you uploaded looks fine, so whatever you did will be fine as well.
