J Limited

The Pentax Rumours site has an enigmatic announcement about this event: link. It will be about:
Introduction of custom prototype model (release is undecided)
J limited team talk event
Present corner

Does this refer to the long-awaited APS-C body? A bit ominous if that is the case, or is it something else called a J Limited? There is a new 21mm Limited lens in the pipeline but just for once I wish Pentax would just stop with these teaser announcements and get on with releasing something new.

It is probably one of those third-party limited edition bodies. There was one previously, I vaguely remember. I very much doubt its the new APS-C body.

It is an illusion that photos are made with the camera… they are made with the eye, heart and head. Henri Cartier-Bresson
Lots of film bodies, a couple of digital ones, too many lenses (mainly older glass) and a Horseman LE 5x4.

Perhaps J really is the name of the new camera. They've worked backwards through K7, K5, K3, K1. No more numbers left so work back through the alphabet?

There was another rumour floating about that a second body was in development. Given the name I wonder if it is a body to be added to the Limited lens lineup to make a complete package?

FA-J lenses were the first to have no aperture rings, so maybe a redesign of the Limited lenses to remove the aperture rings and add WR?
Best regards, John

The upcoming HD Pentax-D FA 21 mm ED Limited DC WR has no aperture ring, so maybe the Three Princesses will be re-modelled in the image of their younger sister

I suspect limited edition camera body, or an evolution of an existing camera. Maybe a 645J to reinvigorate the 645 line?

If the image is not a red-herring then I don't think it's a lens.

If it's a new camera hopefully it doesn't come with a new "J" bayonet so old lenses can't be used.

I know it's weird but I'd like for them to stick to the K line. K is just a very cool looking letter ;L

Of course, I have to agree with that sentiment.

I'm sure it will be some sort of 'luxury' version of an existing model like the J Limited KP was:
