Only the K5ii and the K3 have built in flash. Are they really worth the upgrade.
Yes, I would think a K3 would be worth the upgrade. An increase in pixel count and a much more recent camera that will the faster in operation should be helpful.

I use the 12 second delay, which automatically turns off SR and locks up the mirror prior to the exposure being made. I use 12 seconds to make sure any vibrations from handling have died away, but 2 seconds will achieve pretty much the same.

There's quite a range here, both with and without built in lighting: https://www.amazon.co.uk/s?k=light+tents+for+photography&crid=LP5T00J0XC9J&spref...

Soft shutter releases can be used with any camera that has a mechanical slot in the shutter release that is for a cable release.

The first one might be a soft shutter release, intended to make the moment of shutter release shake free.

The second one is a double cable release intended for bellows and a special bellows macro lens.

It depends on the black and white style perhaps, so if we liked sharp, crisp, grainy images isuch as we had with Kodak Tri-X, then a lens that delivers sharp, wiry results would be an obvious choice. A softer lens on this scenario wouldn't cut it.

I don't have any particular lens in mind, but give me a K-3 III Monochrome and I'll start to find out!

There will be at least two entries! Sue and myself will be sorting our entries for this over the next couple of days, and hopefully so will lots of other members!

It strikes me that if we all had to do this, the insurers themselves would become a weak point regarding security. They would have full details of all our locks and security arrangements held on file. Securely of course, but how secure is any organisation that holds our data? I would feel happier if they simply issued their requirements, and if there was an incident and we hadn't complied to find out and make adjustments at that stage.
