I set it up to have 4 fields of focus.
1. The Chain
2. The Candle Stick
3. The Pocket Watch
4. The picture frame.
I was testing DOF and focus points. By looking at the picture you can tell the location of final focus. I took four separate low light shots to check focus.

Sat in a chair with my two elbows against my chest, then held my breath. The same way you use a Rifle (Taking in a breath then letting it out before pulling trigger)

P.S. I also used the mirror lockup in 2second timed release.

I was trying to see how the focus, exposure etc was effected by firmware upgrade. What I found.

1. focus was faster in low light. BUT focus was not necessarily where I thought it was. (Camera focused on frame)
2. Auto ISO worked as expected. (200-800)
3. Exposure was slightly under exposed (BUT better than with 1.0.2)

Tom[/quote]You remove the eyecup that is on the camera, by pushing up. Then the new LCD hood and protector slide down in the place of the original eyecup. It is a nice fit.

It works very well, and easy to remove and replace original eye-cup. I was taking photos in the bright sun today and I needed to see the histogram, and I was able to see it.

Yes thanks, I am bad I missed the not. Well I am starting a new fad, more dust on CCD the better. Should I call it the Spotted Photo Look?

I find that my Pentax ist DS stays clean if I adhere to two rules. Change lenses only when the camera opening is facing down. And try if possible to change lenses in a dusty or windy environment.

Here are Macro tests, done handheld at both 180mm and 300mm. No post processing. I think the lens is sharp and the DOF is right on.

I use mine on a Pentax ist DS, and think it is great. I would have liked it better if the lens shade had the removable door for using a circular polarizer filter, and it was the petal type. But otherwise I would not change anything. Yes a lens tripod support would have been a nice addition.
