After seeing the reviews by other users on www.dpreview I decided to order the Tamron 70-300mm Macro lens. I spend many hours shooting flowers, and I wanted a zoom lens that could handle that as well as a telephoto that had a greater reach than my 28-200 zoom. I wil post photos after i receive it next week.

I bought the same lens, and find it a very competent lens. Produces very sharp photos.

I've a number of Tamron lenses but they're all the older Adaptall2 manual focus models but I think they're great and I'm sure you'll be pleased with your purchase.
Do let us know how you get on and what camera you'll be using it with.

I use mine on a Pentax ist DS, and think it is great. I would have liked it better if the lens shade had the removable door for using a circular polarizer filter, and it was the petal type. But otherwise I would not change anything. Yes a lens tripod support would have been a nice addition.

Here are Macro tests, done handheld at both 180mm and 300mm. No post processing. I think the lens is sharp and the DOF is right on.
180mm. Handheld.
