Bill is is right - however if you are very careful (and you are technically minded) you could undo the little catch on the bracket that holds the screen in place - let the bracket & screen open up a bit and blow behind - carefully closing the bracket afterwards. Again though I agree with Bill and unless it's really annoying leave well alone.

No - the K30 is not an evolved K5 but a replacement KR. I have a K100D Super which I replaced with a KR and must admit was not happy about loosing the top LCD but did get used to not having it after a while - I suppose we get used to anything eventually!

Once again I'm angry (ahhhhhhhhh!!!!!)after following a link on one of the other sites for the new 50mm DA 1.8 lens - in the USA on a well known site the price is $249.95 - while here in the UK at a another well know site £249! How many times have we seen this and how unfair that we have to put up with it all this time - it's not like wages are higher over here. Moan over!

The guys above singing the praises of the KR are right. For the money it's a excellent camera. I have a k100d super but brought a KR to replace it - used it for a while then it was somehow acquired by my daughter! We went shooing together a few weeks ago and I could not believe the excellent dynamic range she was getting from the KR(especially compared to my k100d). Also as mentioned the KR has a load of exposure aids to get things just right too so exposure can be spot on. KR definitely recommended by both me and my daughter!

I still get the red square focusing points - these still work as normal.

I've got one of those cheap Chinese split screens for my K100D Super.Easy to fit and works great - and the auto focus bleep confirms when things are in focus with the split screen focus - helps focus the manual 50mm 1.7 and 135mm 3.5 lens that I have. The microprism ring helps too! Auto focus still works fine but spot exposure does not work correctly with a split screen.

I wonder how the K30 affect sales of the K-01? I know they are different beasts but I would imagine most of us who maybe at one time thought about upgrading our older Pentax dslr (K100D's etc) to a K-01 would now prefer the view finder equipped K30.
