Comment by javam posted on Poll: Who's replacing their 16-45mm with a DA* 16-50mm? at 27/02/2007 - 13:56
As the camera has sensors front and back the IR remote works for all the situations I have needed it for so far.

I still feel that is an unusual occurrence rather than a common one though.
To put the cat amongst the proverbial pigeons, the only lens I have bought which had any problems on delivery was a 31mm limited!

I am struggling to find a negative comment on it so I think it is far from the 50/50 your wording would suggest.
There was a magazine article a few months back where they went into the sigma warehouse and picked out several copies of the same lens at random (the 105 macro I think) and ran comparison tests because of this reported issue of poor standards, the results were very good.

Search the http://www.ephotozine.com/forum/ and you will see I am not the only one, it is a very popular lens and the EX series are very high quality.

kcmadr asked about Multi-exposure not braketing. i.e. picking a previous shot say a landscape, selecting it for a multiple exposure and then taking a picture of the moon over the top of it. Nothing to do with braketing.
To be honest multi-exposure has to be the least used feature I have ever had on a camera and even more so since digital (just combine them in photoshop and have a better chance of getting the placement right!), but I think this was the original question.

It caught me out a couple of times until I switched it off and moved ISO to a control dial

I carried out a few comparrison shots when my K10D arrived just before Christmas and the difference between shots taken on the two was no where near that pronounced.
(For the record, I carried out my tests using a FA 50mm F1.4, FA 80-320mm and the DA 16-45mm)
I would try again using Manual focus and a tripod to rule out any AF problems on the *istD.
The K10D is a stunning camera, but the *istD was not as bad as your shot seems to suggest in my experience.

Waiting to see on both counts.
