The firmware is downloaded in a Zip file. Did you extract it prior to attempting the update:
I did not have to extract the file.

The download file is self-extracting. The following file is extracted. Fwdc###b.bin:"
Yes I am well aware it's a self extracting Zip however, for the OP it's clear something did not work as he was unable to update his camera to the latest firmware. In this scenario it's worth exploring all other options.
The OP couldn't install it if he was attempting to install the K-1 update on a K-1ii with the link quoted by Benz3ne as it links to the wrong download.

Latest firmware for the K1ii is v1.30 NOT v1.53.
Are you really are trying to brick your camera? Fortunately the updates have different file names to prevent your mistake.

Installing the K-1 firmware on a K-1ii hopefully will never work, if it did, it would likely brick your camera.

The site may say,"Your images are protected against print screen theft, thanks to Watermark-less Image Protection Technology. "
Bunkum!
I can assure you they're not.
AFAIK photographers using the free account don’t get paid. While they can upload photos they’ll need to subscribe to a paid account if they want to earn money.

You'd have thought Canon would have made a 28mm f2 lens by now for their users to save wrecking decent Pentax ones. The moral here must be to buy the right brand in the first place so you don't have to destroy a valuable, well thought of, lens!

Just imagine if that was replicated globally.

Are you aware that batteries not connected to or posted with the device it is intended to power are prohibited in UK and international post?
