AFAIK You can use macs technique of using M mode, but then simply pressing the handy green button to make the camera select exposure rather than switching back to Av

Oh, you don't want that old crap!

Ill take your A*300, your F*300, and your LX off you for free!

Firstly, why are you selling the finest film era pentax equiptment around? Secondly, I'm sure many people on this forum could answer your questions very accurately.. but not me. Ill have a stab based on research though;

I looked around and came upto very different prices to kris.. around £300 for the LX, £500 for the F*300, and a whopping £1500 for the A* - perhaps he was confusing your A*300 F/2.8 with the A*300 F/4?

They are ridiculously expensive, but you can get a cheaper alternative off e-bay for around 15quid, which has the on and off camera adapters + cord as one complete unit. I can't find one listed at the moment but they do come up regularly

Or you can get lucky like I did, when I purchased an AF330FTZ with off camera bracket and got a box of those adapters and cords, 10 adapters with 4 short cords and 2 long ones. All for $80(£35)I kept the ones I wanted and gave the rest away.

(long ebay link)

would that work, and support p-ttl?

I would have said keep the K100D for highISO, but then read you had the d300 heh.

The k100d is a nice little camera though, good high iso performance, small, and inbody IS. Id just keep it, if they are £200 new.

Why are the extension cord F, and the hotshoe adapter F so expensive?
Its over £50 for both of them!

Are there any alternatives to use a flash off camera in the same way, without using as slave?

I got excited, but you put FA star in the title not A star.

Not that it isnt a fine lens..

I know people who walkabout with a Bigma!

If I look at the lenses you have there, the ones I can see being best are

16-45
35
50
200
agreed in general

whats the performance of the 35-70 and the 70-210 like?
see
http://www.photodo.com/product_288.html for 35-70
and http://www.photodo.com/product_291.html for 70-210
the 70-210 is a fairly good lens, not so contrasty as more modern lenses but zoom mechanics are solidly built IMO, the focusing mech less so IMO.

I would go for the 50-135 F/2.8

Actually thats a lie. I would go for 12-24 F/4. But thats me
hmmm, the 12-24 (and the forthcoming 15ltd) is an interesting prospect, I've never used a really wide angle lens, but it would add a new dimension. Is 12mm really that different to the 16mm end I already have ? Why the 12-24 rather than the 10-17 fish (+de-fish s/w) in your opinion ?
ive heard the 12-24 and 16-50 make a nice kit, but alas I wouldnt know; i own the 10-17

its perfect for me because I shoot alot of experimental stuff, but otherwise I cant see alot of people using it as much as the pentax 12-24, or the sigma 10-20

£385 (lets say p&p is £5) is a high price considering you can get a brand new pentax version for £415 inc. cashback

I would probably consider buying it if it wasn't for the fact its Samsung, if I needed to, it wouldnt sell on for as good a price as a Pentax version would.
