Has anyone got any advice on what the quickest way to get up to speed with PS CC (or CS6) please. Mostly interested in the compositing/image manipulation side of things as LR covers almost all of my photographic requirements.
There are SO many tutorials available out there is hard to see the wood for the trees. Ideally I'd pay for some one-2-one training but I suspect that will be out of my price range (even if I know who has any good) so I'm thinking maybe some online learning which I don't mind paying for if it's good and probably willing to spend £100 or so...
Unfortunately I've never really been one to work my way through a book, so looking for a more direct route
thanks in advance

However, for me, none of them actually look right - they look 'plastic' and artificial.

One of three original images fed into the process (this one is one stop under exposed)

Test 1 - Photomatix Pro HDR software

Test 2 - Enfused Image (using defaults)

Test 3 - Processing the above under exposed image with LR, no HDR software

I've spent a few mins processing each of the images in LR after importing from Enfuse and Photomatix but not really spent a huge amount of time on them. Enfuse definitely produces more natural looking images and better than you could achieve than just using a single exposure. Photomatix certainly has more options to play with and you can get "more interesting' effects
Over all Enfuse (and the LR plugin) are very good and certainly worth the "donation", I paid $5 and starting to feel a little stingy now lol
Have fun

I find Photomatix and HDR in general can produce some real pleasing result in monochrome, this shot was produced with three bracketed exposures in Potomatix:
