If you search the item number it comes up.

The flash in the picture looks like my AF160, how can a flash be a 'power saver'?

Could the item have come from a firm who marked it as their property?

I tried a digital 18-55 on my P30 with good results, see this thread for sample images on last page.

Not all digital lenses are unusable on film bodies, you just have to play with them to see if they work, that's all.

Bring on the colours!!

The more the merrier, if it helps keep Pentax afloat then it's got to be a good move.

I like the brown ones, haven't a clue why, I just do!

I have a silver FA 28-80, it was a kit lens for several MZ bodies, and I find it a good all rounder on both film and digital.

If you search hard you may find a new FAJ 28-80.

If you want to try out your MZ-6 before you get a dedicated lens for it try your 18-55 from the K!). Above 20mm(ish) it's a very usable alternative. Below that focal length you get vignetting, which you can see in the view finder.

I know, but it would still feel like cheating! Thanks for the thought though.
Why?

If it's that good John and I was you I'd take Hefty up on his offer.

So, Pentax, if you are reading this please think about making SDM lenses faster please
I think that'll be seconded by all Pentax users.

We have excellent bodies and just need faster SDM lenses to go with them.

When they appear I may even buy one!

I know what you're saying Amin, The white thing coukd have been a 70-200, I didn't take much notice, The point was my Sigma, which is an old lens, was locking on quicker than the Cannons.

I know that the modern USM/SDM lenses are supposed to be better, I just can't afford one to try and having seen comments on here about speed/reliability I don't think I want one!

The only thing speed wise I wish Pentax would do is up their burst rate to something akin to the Canon/Nikon speeds.

The press see the current AF system on the Pentax range, notice it hasn't changed for twentyodd years and assume it's old fashioned and slow.

What they don't do is compare like for like on similar bodies!

You can't say Pentax are slow if your comparing a standard 18-55 on a K-x with a USM 400 on a 7D.

Try comparing the K-x and standard lens with a EOS450 and standard lens then you see the difference.

Last time I stood next to a Canon user my K200d and Sigma 18-200 were focussing quicker than his White thing on his 450!

The last time I ordered from china the item took four weeks to arrive, but it was worth the wait.

I might just order one to replace my K200 screen which is scratched.
