I've not been able to offer them here first, because I was commissioned to put them on eBay, but you might like to know that currently I have three very desireable things on auction.

A very nice MX (literally one careful lady owner!), a boxed Adaptall 2 PKA adapter and a virtually unused Pentax Adapter K. I was amazed when i opened the case and found these things. And very tempted to keep the MX, but I would have to bid along with everyone else and I'm not sure how that would work anyway.

My user name is johnriley1uk.

If you tell me what you want to pay for it I'll bid on your behalf; if I win then you keep the camera and pay your friend, we leave each other nice feedback and there'll be no PayPal fees to pay. Everybody's happy!

PM me if you're interested.

I know, but it would still feel like cheating! Thanks for the thought though.

Why?

If it's that good John and I was you I'd take Hefty up on his offer.

John - the weight given in the description seems a little on the high side

What weight? I wasn't aware I'd quoted any. I must check the eBay pre-loaded stats to see if that's what you mean and correct them if needs be.

Because if ever my friend or his wife saw me with their old camera, they would for ever more just wonder if they'd been diddled, even though they wouldn't think they had been really. Doubt is a terrible thing that causes problems sometimes.

No matter how above board, it just doesn't sit right.

Have you asked if they would just sell it to you? They must know it was going to a good home.

This might sound ridiculous but it hadn't even crossed my mind. Having been tasked with getting the best price possible on eBay, that's the mode I was switched into.

Obviously too single minded by three quarters...

alfpics, many thanks for pointing out the weight issue. I've removed the entire panel of eBay info, obviously those are going to need careful checking before i use them in future.
Best regards, John

John, why not take up Hefty's offer? Let the current owners know what you are doing and how much you expect it to go for, get Hefty to place your maximum bid right at the start and then leave the auction to run its course.

If you get it, it's all fair and square and above board. If someone outbids you, then the owner's happy because it went for more than you thought it would.

Make sense?
