This came along a week or two too late for me, I’d have snapped your hand off a couple of weeks ago!

Though I’m not looking to buy, I just wanted to stop in as a recent 55-300mm PLM owner and say what a superb lens it is. By some distance it’s the best performing APS-C tele zoom I’ve tried and is unbelievably compact and light.
Yes, tis a brill lens, but sometimes/frequently those birds are just too far away ;-(

The ony fault with it is cosmetic in that it has a scratch on the back of the baseplate edge where it caught on a fence when a car tried to squash me against a bridge when I was trying to take a decent photo of a kingfisher! (This minor war wound can be hidden with the use of a permanant black felt pen/marker of course)

Also for sale is my wonderful, but infrequently used, 16-85 HD DA ED WR DC lens. I am doing more wildlife photography now - so prefer my longer zoom.
Included lens caps, UV filter, lens hood etc £300 inc UK mainland postage, but can also be collected in the Hull area.

55-300 PLM HD DA ED WR f4.5/5.6 Pentax zoom lens. This is great and focusses so speedily and almost silently.
£300 inc UK mainland postage, but can also be collected in the Hull area.

The whole lot can be had for £1,500.
Bank transfer or PayPal friends and family - or even cash on collection welcomed!

What do folk use/recoment to improve sharpness and decrease noise pls?
I use Dx0 PureRaw2 at the moment with my RAW files.
This Short Eared Owl flew around last Monday at RSPB Bempton but - as you would expect - never close enough to get great photos with my 50-300 PLM lens
Any thoughts or advice would be appreciated.

I presumed it was because it came from Amazon warehouse.

Nicely done, and a lovely flower . If I were being really picky, I'd point out that highlights are blown on the right hand side of the flower. Tricky with a reflective surface, but worth experimenting with ways of reducing bright reflections. Steve
Thanks for pointers to improve.
Yes, I am also miffed about the blown out bits BUT my reflector (A4 white card) fell over and knocked everything onto the floor and so I gave up on this attempt ;-(

Passion Flower liberated from our garden.
The image was focus merged (stacked) in Affinity Photo2 from various images taken with different manually focussed points at f13 with Pentax K-3iii and 16-85mm lens and a 40 year old SLIK 88 tripod!
RAW files processed with Dx0 PureRaw2 before merging.
It's a matter of preference which edit one eventually prefers after mucking around with modern software which is so easily able to enhance/ruin the balance of colour, sharpness etc etc.
Which one do you like best?
