Hello Gerhard,

Thanks for the link, they are very impressive examples, the f/4 shots are particularly encouraging. I assume that you posted the images from the 60-250mm, if so how would you say it performs compared to your other DA* lenses?
And of course welcome to the forum

Ta, that looks very promising...
Yes indeed it does.
I'm interested in corner/edge sharpness at f/4. Any chance you may be able to take a few shots to show this when you have a spare moment?
Thanks for sharing your observations so far btw

Any new recipients had a chance to try out this lens yet?
Just wondering how it performs at the wide end at differing focal lengths.

Am I the only one who is a little disappointed that Pentax'es flagship lens range require possibly expensive software to correct problems, or are my expectations unrealistic?
Probably not. I was disappointed at first, this is my second copy and it is an improvement on the first. Over time and usage I have come appreciate it's colour, contrast and sharpness (all be it at a more limited aperture range than I would like). I was hoping it would be the Oly ED 12-60 SWD of the Pentax range but it isn't, never-the-less I still think it is a good if not great lens.

I don't have an 18-55 so can't compare but I agree with Prieni it does suffer from CA, some times it is more noticeable than others.
Generally I like the lens, it's a little large but has the great benefit of weather and dust proofing (for me at least). At the 'right' aperture (f/8 @ 16mm and f/5.6 @ 50mm) it is extremely sharp across the frame. Wide open it's not so great (although still good in the centre) which is shame but not a disaster. At the end of the day CA is quite easily removed with a good RAW converter.
