Hi Everyone,

I have just had a call from the shop as I am not working today, letting me know that the DA* 60-250 has arrived!!

The price is £799 with free UK postage to forum members.

The guys in the shop will be phoning people who have left a pre-order during today.

That's a cheaper price than many were expecting, do you think it will stay at that price, or did you get the 1st batch cheaper than expected again!?

Just too late for me to get for my hols, but at a better price than I expected. Maybe I'll see what price it is in the US of A if they have it. But then again if the mystery camera is as great as everyone (especially me) hopes maybe I should save my money for that .

Well the preformance is still a myth, the preproduction models werent that good at all

I gave up waiting and just purchased a Tamron 70-200 f2.8 with matching TC.

The price will increase when I have sold my first allocation as they will cost me quite a bit more when I reorder. As I do with all Pentax product I place an order as soon as the item is announced. We all know that this lens was announced a long time ago and there have been a couple of price increase since, hence it will cost me more.

Any new recipients had a chance to try out this lens yet?
Just wondering how it performs at the wide end at differing focal lengths.

The DA* 60-250 has a max aperture of f4 (constant I think) so it doesn't cut it for me. For a zoom of that range and money I'd want f2.8. but I might still buy one just to see what its like.

Just a quick heads-up on this lens...

We are running very low on our first batch which means that the price will rise imminently to at least £899.

As mentioned previously, this is due to the fact that since I ordered my first batch the price has risen a couple of times and newer stock will cost me more.
