A lovely photo. I like the composition, lighting and the tonal range.

I quite like this photo of an old barrow with a pump on it. The diagonal composition and the textures of the equipment, cinder path and brickwork make for a good image. I think that this would be even better if you cropped closer an got rid of the drainpipe. The lighter bricks on the edge of the picture, could do with darkening, to concentrate the interest on the subject.

A well seen composition. It works well in mono. It looks like the eyes and nose of a spinx.

A good up close and personal portrait. I like the quality of the detail in the mans face and clothing. His eye is also nice and sharp with a good catchlight.

I like the composition, cropping and atmosphere of this photo. You have held detail in the sky and in the boiler highlights. Even though you can see only part of the engine, you can sense that it is a monster. Well Done

I like the simplicity of the colours and the perspective of this photo. I get a feeling of solitude. I too, am looking for another element at the end of the bridge and there is'nt enough room. But I do like it as it is. Another alternative would be to crop the top to the end of the bridge. Be careful not the leave a plant head cut in two on the left. This would then give a road to nowhere pic ...

At first glance, this picture looked like a hole in ship, looking through to the seabed. Closer inspection shows a piece of rock with mineral inclusions. So I guess what they had lost was the mineral. Is it marble? An intriguing photo.

You have captured a beautiful atmospheric photo of the barges on the right. The man in the bowler hat adds to a feeling of a bygone age. A lovely photograph. In my opinion, to improve it even more:- I agree with Wadna that the barge on the left edge is not needed and would remove it. I would also remove the boy on the left, as he detracts from the timeless scene.

I quite like this photo of a Baboon. It is from a different angle than the normal front-on view. Good sharpness in the eyes, nose and whiskers. Background nicely diffused. A good advert for the Pentax DA 55-300.
