You have captured the character of this interesting location. I like the monochrome treatment and the man walking adds a human element.

I too prefer the straighter version. I am amazed at the difference caused by the viewpoint and angle. I think the perspective of this photo makes for an interesting effect. However, I would prefer some more dynamic lighting under the building. Paticularly under the ceiling and down the far end.

I like this environmental portrait of the Blacksmith. It clearly shows the man with the live forge, surrounded by all his tools and equipment. You have achieved some good detail in the shadows.

Great impact from an unusual camera height and a limited depth of field. The lighting around the focal point and the autumn leaves add to the appeal.

A powerful picture that begs a story. The static dummy's head and the moving foot add to the intrigue. In my opinion, removal of the white patch by the dolls head, would make it even better.

Andrew, your photo brings back memories of several visits to Cwmorthin that I made years ago. I must go there again, a magical place. Is it still accesible? You have captured the atmosphere and the dereliction of this place really well.

Good composition and the way that you have pulled the tones out of the shadows, make this much more than a simple snapshot. Good photo.
