Hi All
Just a heads up that I have just bought a PENTAX-DA 18-270mm F3.5-6.3 ED SDM and a Pentax D-FA 100mm F2.8 WR Macro Lens with a good discount from everyone's favorite dealer ? SRS , they currently have good discounts on various other lenses, pre Black Friday deals. Hope this of interest to someone.
Regards
Graham.

Hi All
Just a brief update on the Johnson `s Photopia administration issue.
My KS 2 developed a problem with the shutter button being stuck in the half pressed position.( Long story I won’t go into here)
I rang Tim Kessel as suggested by Chris at SRS.
The call went to answer machine but Tim returned my within a half an hour.
I gave him the details and I sent the KS 2 off to him as suggested.
A week later the camera was returned very well packed, repaired and cleaned, for less than £100.
Very well pleased, so I think we can rest assured that we still have a very reliable repair service available.
The new company is now called
John Pye & Sons Ltd

Hi
The KS 2 I purchased from SRS just over 3 years ago recently developed a fault.
It had been perfect until recently when it has started to underexpose the first shots following a period of being powered down or switched off. The fault still occurred despite trying different lenses, trying different SD cards, using a fully charged battery, and resetting all customs settings.
As I will be on a 14 day Baltic cruise in a few weeks time I was in a bit of a panic and not sure of what to do, as you often hear stories of cameras being away for weeks or months for repair.
I rang SRS and spoke to Doug, who I had spoken to previously about camera or lens deals.
He suggested I send the camera to them and they would try to get it sorted under warranty and get it back in time for my holiday, but understandably was making any promises !!
Well, thanks to some outstanding service from SRS, Johnsons Photopia and from Pentax, if they had to agree to the free of charge repair. The camera was repaired and returned in a week and 2 days.
The repair note that came back with the camera from Johnsons says they replaced a mechanical assembly, repaired the shutter and mirror mechanism, cleaned viewfinder assembly and CCD and body and checked and tested it.
I must say it came back like new and now works perfectly.
This just reinforces the excellent customer service we get from SRS.
Regards
Graham Evans

Hi
I was very pleased today to hear that one of my three images submitted for the P & O 2018 Calender Competition has been selected as one of the twelve winners. It was open for any view of, or from a P&O Cruise.
Mine were taken last year from our cruise to the Norwegian Fjords, the winner and one other were taken in Olden the other in Stavanger.
All were taken with my K S2 and the 18 - 135 ED AL DC WR, The only kit I took with me.
For anyone interested the details for the winning pic were f11, 1/125, ISO 250, at 18mm, in case the EXIF gets removed upon uploading.
Unfortunately the winners do not get a free cruise next year, only the satisfaction of having the calender distributed to all Loyalty Club members, selected Travel Agents throughout and being available to purchase on every P & O cruise next year, which is enough for me to be honest, but another cruise would have been nice.
Hope someone enjoys.
Regards Graham.

Hi
I bought my K S2 with the 18 - 135 rather than the standard kit lens , and its not been off the camera since although I have a couple primes. It gives great flexability whilst maintaining great IQ. I am not a great birder or aviation shooter more land/cityscape, party and portrait shooter for which this is a good combination. If I needed to regularly
shoot longer focal lengths I think I would go with the 1.4X rear teleconverter to add to the combination, which seems to workwell according to some other reviers.
Regards
Graham.
