The KS 2 I purchased from SRS just over 3 years ago recently developed a fault.
It had been perfect until recently when it has started to underexpose the first shots following a period of being powered down or switched off. The fault still occurred despite trying different lenses, trying different SD cards, using a fully charged battery, and resetting all customs settings.
As I will be on a 14 day Baltic cruise in a few weeks time I was in a bit of a panic and not sure of what to do, as you often hear stories of cameras being away for weeks or months for repair.
I rang SRS and spoke to Doug, who I had spoken to previously about camera or lens deals.
He suggested I send the camera to them and they would try to get it sorted under warranty and get it back in time for my holiday, but understandably was making any promises !!
Well, thanks to some outstanding service from SRS, Johnsons Photopia and from Pentax, if they had to agree to the free of charge repair. The camera was repaired and returned in a week and 2 days.
The repair note that came back with the camera from Johnsons says they replaced a mechanical assembly, repaired the shutter and mirror mechanism, cleaned viewfinder assembly and CCD and body and checked and tested it.
I must say it came back like new and now works perfectly.
This just reinforces the excellent customer service we get from SRS.
