I actually prefer #1 on the first set. The entire flower in frame is what does it for me.

The crowd was told to wait till the two planes were directly in front of you to take a picture. We all figured out why as we checked our LCDs. ("Ohhhh, now I get it" If anyone's interested, there's more at http://picasaweb.google.com/emmysgivingtree/BlueAngels.

View from the dock over Wolf Bay, Alabama. Sunsets and wine every evening...ahh, that's the life.

And a day trip to Pensacola Naval Air Station to watch the Blue Angels practice. Don't have a telephoto lens, so these were cropped from the 18-55 kit lens.

(seen some posts about things moving out of the frame, this works or no?)

#1 for me too.
Like #2 tho as well. What's it look like in color?

I'd take rabbit/snail paella and a bowl of gazpacho any day.

WOW. I think you've captured the translucency well. I especially like the eyeballs on #4.

Introducing one of my favorite places.....Greer's Ferry Lake, in Arkansas...

...where I spent my 3-day weekend...

The two boat shots were taken in late afternoon, with the sun going down just out of frame, on a very humid day. [/img]

Congrats, winners!
Great judging, thanks for the comments.
Now that I leave home and the "tools of my trade" behind for a week, I can take some great pictures of the "sea and shore".

Fishing docks on the "shore" of the Little Red River, Arkansas.
