The Tamron BB is just about the best 500mm mirror out there. I have one, cracking lens for the money and easily the cheapest way to 500mm.

Welcome MO, nice story indeed.

You'll find that all DSLRs can be used i full manual mode (exposure and focusing) and that there is a wealth of exciting possibilities for legacy lenses on your K100D. Have fun !

Nipper - I've added a shot to the entries that I'm not sure complies with the rules - however since there is nothing in the Weekly Competition Rules and Guidance thread to clarify then I'll let you decide if it's a valid entry or not ! There is nothing to say when a shot had to be taken to be valid for entry - the one posted was taken on 29th April with a Cosina 55/1.2.

Thanks !
Kevin.

I kept the K7 as back up when I bought the K5 .... and promptly sold it 3 months later and bought another K5 (night and day comes to mind).

As far as price etc. is concerned. Photokina is Sept, IF they announce a replacement there then it will still be a few months to launch date ... and earlier adopters pay full price (K5 was US$1,600 and is now US$850). So if you prefer to wait 6-9 months and pay US$1,600 - 2,000 .......

Oops forgot all about this - just found the images alongside my bird shots .. 'allo what's all this then ?!

Not as much detail as Bob's but OK for a snapshot out of the window whilst laying on my back watching TV

So it still seems they are planning a Pentax version, as he didn't say otherwise. Hope it's here for the butterfly season!
