Definitely #3.

#2 looks like the WB is out of kilter and the shot has an overall inaccurate yellowish tinge.

Some lovely shots in this set .. I do think you may have cropped too tight with a number though. Good work !

Such magnificent birds. #2,5 & 6 for me. I'd be very tempted to PP out that wire in the last shot.

Good shots ! Shooting in high-speed continuous bursts will help with that timing you said you want to work on !

The lens release button has fallen out of my K5 this morning. I think this has been raised before, but can't find it with a search. Can anyone help. My 2012 luck continues.
I have two K5s - it happened on my newest one but the older one (is it nearly 2 years since they were released ?) is still solid - no sign of any wobbliness - and never had an issue. Nothing to do but send it back for repair I'm afraid (you can use a pin to release lenses if you really need to).

That answers one question. I presume you shoot in RAW. As I shoot in JPEG I can rattle off rather longer bursts than that.
Both. Depending on the situation (if I know I am shooting take-offs/landings then I want as many per sec as possible but these are still short bursts). I do usually shoot RAW - but that's 20-23 frames to fill the buffer (ca. 3 secs). Jpgs will reach 30 or more.

For RAW @ 3 or 4 ps I could get in continuous bursts of 4 - 8 secs. Much more useful that 3 secs and wait for the buffer to clear.

I'm trying to find out what the benefit of a 3fps rate is, but nobody seems to be able to provide an example.
I think pretty much the same as Mike has mentioned re. power boats etc. is also the same for birds. 7 FPS seems overkill (except for takeoff / landings) and after 3 secs you've filled the buffer. 3FPS that would get you about 7 secs and an excellent way to shoot behavioural situations.
