Colour Blind

As per the title I'm red/green colour blind (which means I sometimes have difficulty differentiating between different shades of those colours, I can tell the difference between the two.

I'm telling you all this because I have just come back from a weekend in the Lakes and have just started to process my photos. i showed some to my girlfriend who said she did not like some as the colours didn't look real, which got me thinking about whether my colour blindness may be playing a part some below are three different versions of the same shot. The first is as shot with no tweaks of the RAW file, #2 is my initial RAW processing which didn't meet the GF's approval and #3 is my pulling back on the processing.

I'm after your thoughts and suggestions please

I think I prefer version 3 , 2 seems a bit dark and one looks a bit flat , does this help? I like your other stuff on
flickr , you've got some good street art in is it Sheffield?.... jeff...

Thanks for the comments, it does help, it looks like I may need to pull back on my processing.

Yes the street art is all in Sheffield, I keep meaning to go out and find some more.

I have to say I prefer #2 Craig, to me it has more vitality and contrast.

Best wishes

I can't help you as I am also highly colour blind. B&W is good!

Link 2 listed as v1 on flickr is my preferred version

As David stated above it has more vitality and contast - a more pleasing picture in my opinion
K10D, K5 plus plenty of clueless enthusiasm.

Colours the same with contrast varying. No1 fine if showing a brighter summer scene. V3 has greater contrast-fine. V2 has too much contrast/black. This is as seen on my laptop. cheers

Thanks for the comments, at least now I know I'm not way off with how I think they should look. And Dr Orloff B&W is very good but you have some stunning colour pics in your gallery.

#1 I'd say is typical of what I remember of a dull day in the Lakes
#2 I find a bit on the bright side (a touch to yellowish)
#3 Like #1 with a bit more contrast and clarity

Overall (assuming my eyesight & monitor is up to scratch) I prefer #3

Definitely #3.

#2 looks like the WB is out of kilter and the shot has an overall inaccurate yellowish tinge.

All, thanks for the comments.

Well some for #2 and some for #3. I think it just goes to show once again that not every one likes the same thing, which is good and also makes me realise that I should go with what I like and hope that some percentage of you good folks also like it.

But I would always welcome constructive criticism / advice as I know I still have a lot to learn.

Thanks again
Cheers
