More than likely you have missed the boat again I think I recently saw a new one somewhere but can't remember where.
If you have a camera that can handle SDM only lenses, Pentax DA17-70 can't be ignored (except maybe for price).

There are deals about at this moment on the 16-45 for £199 at Currys/PC World and Park Cameras. See the 'Leads to Deals' threads on this forum. SRS have the Sigma for £275.

It's a great lens and you've got it for a great price!

Yes ChrisM - and I think you had the last one.
Clifton, Park, PC World/Currys, Dixon, WH Express et al. No chance.
Fotosense website claims they have in stock - we'll see on Monday.
I wonder why Pentax decided to discontinue the one lens that filled the gap between the kit 18-55 and the really expensive gear, all of which is beyond my means.

Spotted that one but wondered why it has been sitting there for 3 weeks, in spite of being reasonably priced.

A great lens, but a tad flimsy.
During new year, I had mine on the end of the K20D and in a padded bag.
The bag dropped from less than one metre and everything seemed okay. However a small area of the filter screw on the lens has snapped off
I can still put filters on, and the optics are fine, but not happy.....
Anyway, I digress, have you tried Cameraworld? or Mathers of Lancashire?
Both might have one in to buy.
In some ways it is a shame that they have appeared to stop making it, but not surprised. It was probably the first "pro" spec DA zoom that came out (you could order it with the *istD way back when) and is possibly lacking in resultion (but on the K20D it was fine)
With the 17-70 appearing, was probably the death knell for the 16-45.....
Still, if you can find one, grab it while you can

Maybe no one saw it for the first week and then from then on the people who wanted one decided against buying because they wondered why it had been sitting there a week .. despite it being reasonably priced.

None of the usual and reputable sources can oblige.
It is still possible to obtain the Sigma 17-70 (Pentax fitting) but I do not know how this compares with the Pentax lens.
