not to worried about GPS. I think the real winner in this camera will be the joy stick control of auto focus points , the bright crystal clear view finder and also the super bright rear screen with touch response. at least what i gathered in the hands on video of the k3 iii

There’s a video on the other side Pentax forums with a photographer first initial experience, clarity in the viewfinder and rear screen on a different level also high iso performance is also major step forward

101 auto focus points and 5.5 stop ibis . it sounds like its going to be some performer. the 4K video i could take or leave but since there throwing it in the new k3 iii surely has to do the talking when it comes to scrutiny. i just hope its everything that everyone hoped for , a new Dawn for Pentax Ricoh

The k3 iii will be above 2000 sterling body only. That is based on that nothing will be of its equal in that price range for functionality,speed, and light years ahead of where Pentax was at recently, at least that’s my hope.not the 2 grand part might I add😂 So the savior is it’s auto focus speed it’s reliability and it has to be technically excellent to be recognized by the general camera critiques.
When I think about it they did not bother with a rear articulating screen( a mistake I thought myself ) This tells live view will not be necessary as it’s accuracy for nailing focus through the viewfinder will be on a par with the best other manufacturers have to offer. Here’s wishing you the best Pentax with the new launch.

The top right hand corner (under the winder) is where I got the most sticky mush. So I would take johnrileys advice and electrical insulation tape that area first and chance another roll . If it works you might be able to do a small repair your self. Well that’s what I’ll be doing with mine when I shoot a bit of film this summer. Best of luck

hi cardiffgareth first things first ,unlucky in the rugby (in the last few minutes) today. My heart bleeds for ye and that's the general feeling among others. Nice camera for 40 quid though , having owned one from new since 1985. the light seals have gone to sticky mush in mine from been stored for to long a period and i hope its only the back cover seals and not the mirror cushions as well but mechanically its still perfect . best of luck with the purchase

My own bobs worth, I think they might’ve been gaging the interest in this product from the Pentax supporters . And maybe with the the analysis and feedback it might not be the time for a full production run. To my eyes the camera that they showed at their last announcement seemed unfinished. The lack of the articulating rear screen of some sort was a mistake. While I feel it was going to be a fast professional reporters camera with many new features including updated autofocus system it just seems that the bean counters at Ricoh said no ,not know. I’m probably wrong but covid did put a spanner in the works so who can blame them.
