Number 4 for me LennyBloke out of a very nice set. I just feel it lends an abstract image of the woods. I would (wood)😀 have focused on the almost animal expression on the upper part of the photo but it’s still a cracking image with it’s beautiful symmetry and lines and great composition 👍

Having no idea what the criteria involves to be part of the RPS, maybe a little flavor of the year is what’s required to make your submission current along with your collection of your best images of the past . Technically you stated that your images were up to standard , so it might be a case for some new images to confirm your eligibility

Looks like no weekly photo competition this week. I do hope everything is ok with Photoden . Maybe someone more senior on here could shed some light.

With all due respect Siminmac, there have been quite a few winners in the competitions that are not worth a print but that’s just an opinion dare I say.
I would prefer a critical analysis of why the image is good or not so good.
My own personal view on a photograph is that it grabs my attention for some reason “maybe unknown to me at the time” and not it’s technical perfection which won’t cover for a boring image , having submitted a number myself.😔
Is it possible to have a higher resolution image for the winner to showcase , not likely on this site.

Hi Robbiec,to my mind I think your right and many other posters about Pentax and their commitment to the purity of the photographic experience and in the last number of years have managed to have convinced their Ricoh guardians as well and that is no mean feat . The history is special and all is
there for everyone to see.
Yes everything takes time and maybe that’s the price we pay for a dedicated team with a proven legacy .
So best of luck with the K3iii and celebrate it with new images.

I think something similar Johnriley, it could be the joy of your own vision through the viewfinder that is instant and not a delayed version that other types offer I love looking through the viewfinder it immediately changes all perspectives on your original viewing with your eyes, helping you to compose and maybe when lucky convey a moment that you did not miss

The young just need to see some one cool with Pentax hanging from there shoulder. I mean “ like “didn’t Dennis Hoper have an lx hanging all around him , in Apocalypse now. So , when Ricoh decide to promote their products to the young, they might ( the younger that is ) be intrigued by the history that Pentax offers because let’s face there isn’t anything the young don’t Google

Thanks for the info denverclassic about the right angle version. I saw one for sale recently and was unsure that it would adapt to the modern eyepiece , so that’s good to know also . I’m happy out now knowing a bit more , cheers to everyone
