p.s, its a secondhand SRS's lens so it has warrenty (so glad i paid the extra bit of money to get a second hand one from a refutable source) but still... just want a camera that works well

no that it will not begin trying... or is incredibly slow to 'lock in' and take the photo. i thought it was just low light but no, took it out in daylight yesterday and it was appalling

beginning to totally regret my move back to Pentax

well like its seeming inability to focus, even in very good light... its very frustrating, my usual 'mode' is to have it set on AF, focus mostly myself and just use AF for a quick mechanical 'check' that everything is in focus. What i have found yesterday, is that doing that with this camera will loose me the picture as it refuses to focus or takes so long the moment has passed

frankly i expected better of pentax

having focusing issues with mine i must say... have been having fun with it though, its a nice lens, good photos and great to get that extra length. Could do with a longer one though, its a bit short...

The 28-70 was quick sharp, so this is a bit of a step back in that respect, mind you, my Pentax K20 with 16-45 was more than three times as fast also!

Well i FINALLY today recieved my 50-135mm. This was no fault of the lovely people at SRS where i bought it, but the fault of me for loosing my card on NYE and not managing to get a new one issued to make payments until yesterday (and i have recieved my lens today which just shows have fab SRS are )

Anyway, the K5 is a beautiful little camera, tactile and light and yummy, i like the feel of it and where all the buttons are, the lens adds alot to the weight of it but its still probably a third to a half lighter than my D700 setup.

Obviously i am not some sort of lens guru, but i can see no difference in the build quality of this lens and my Nikkor 28-70, it feels well built, its nice to hold and doesnt weigh me down too much (but thats probably because the camera is lighter, rather than the lens)

i was quite shocked with how long it takes to autofocus, but i am not a major fan of autofocus anyway, use it possibly to 'check' that its well focused but its not really a huge problem for me that its quite slow (i can see how this would be a problem for some though)

i am very much looking forward to taking the camera out when my husband wakes up, i will give a review of picture quality then

very very impressed though and glad to be rocking the pentax kit again feels gooooood

Its here, i have the K5 - must say SRS are the most efficient folk around! unfortuantly my bank isnt quite as efficient so it looks like i may have to wait another day for my lens to arrive...

absolutely blown away by the SRS service though, i made the order at 2pm yesterday and my lens arrived by 9am this morning!!

but even if i buy one first thing tomorrow from SRS the uber fabulous quick postage guys, i am still going to be waiting until the posties start up again on Monday to get it!

Or is Monday a bank holiday? in which case it will be Tuesday

to be honest, i am going out tomorrow might for the first time without the baby, intend on staying up til 6 being VERY naughty and will spend the rest of the NY period sat down recovering

so... perhaps its for the best that i wont recieve my lovely until Tuesday...
