£649.00 is the second hand price at SRS!....If you can get it for that price new...go for it!

Last couple?? Are Pentax coming with a new version then?
It is a really good price for it.
Looking further Mifsud seem low on Pentax stock - are they maybe dropping Pentax, rather than a Mk2 lens coming out?

I dont think the 50/135 could be bettered!....it's a stunner of a lens!

Think you are looking at £550-ish 2nd hand on ebay, so £649 sounds a pretty good price to me, especially as you don't have to worry about the notorious SDM issue. Its a great lens, although quite bulky on the small bodies.
Still shooting in the dark (literally and metaphorically)...

You'd think they could make the thing sustain a few little bumps for crying out loud.
Honestly, quite a nice lens. More sturdy than I would have expected as well.

I must admit being highly remiss in not having evaluated it as a throwing lens.

oh no, I'm all in favour of people evaluating the throwing ability of this lens...after all, that's how I got mine for a bargain price, even after repairs & service!

Just came back to this thread as I'm now seriously thinking of selling my 50-135, to find that the Mifsuds price is now £949!!
With SRS at £849 new, Park @ £899, WEX @ £868, it's looking like £650 is now the standard used price! Any takers!?
PS @ nipper, did you manage to get one from Mifsuds before the price went up?
