Actually, on the K20D it is part number A150 for Pentax product number 77010. Had to look it up on the K20D exploded illustration (fig 1 of 4)

Gah - I came out Sony. I would'nt dream of having their pap. Hmmf.
Actually, I have a DSC-R1 with a non-removable Zeiss f2.8 24-135mm lens that has a 67mm filter size and it is excellent for portraits and point-and-shoot. The lens alone is worth the cost of the camera. I was the upgrade from the Minolta DiMage Z1. The Sony is really a good camera.

But I still understand where you stand.

"As the enthusiastic Pentaxian you have the soul of the true photographer. A strong believer in your brand but always living in the shadow of you big brothers, doomed to wander in their footsteps taking pictures that have already been taken. Still you love your gear and probably wouldn't swap brands until well after they went out of production."

This is what I got, not so sure about "living in the shadow.." or "doomed to wander in their footsteps taking pictures that have already been taken" but nonetheless, I am PENTAXIAN!

In my early days of photography, before I had learned anything really, I experienced the feeling of "I want to take a picture but I can't think of a subject" and it does take a bit of time and effort to get over that.

These days I don't really wander about hoping for an image, but usually go out looking for something that I wanted to shoot, for one purpose or another.

As a start though, combining another hobby with photography is useful. For example, you might be a dentist and could start with clinical photography, or a book collector photographing a collection. Whatever it is, you then learn those vital techniques and the creative aspects follow.

Looking at lots of images for inspiration is also a great way to learn to really see the world around you.
I bought my K20D in January and I find that they way that I look at the world has changed. I have started looking at leading lines and thinking of depth of field even when I have no camera near me. When I "see" anything, I try and think of how I can make an interesting photo out of it. What can I do to make it stand out using DOF, shutter speed ISO changes etc. Maybe it's a beginner's outlook, but it has certainly changed the way I "see" the world.

I own this lens and it's OK. I have taken some good shots with it, but at the long end (300mm) and at distance, it doesn't do so well for me. IQ doesn't stand out. Macro is really pretty good i am still impressed with some of the shots I've taken. For the price (around $130) you can't beat it.

Amin,

I have law enforcement experience and understand what happened to you. Unfortunately some overprotective parents focused on you. These days, especially in the US (I'm not sure about the UK), people panic when they see someone with a camera when there are children within a mile. On the law enforcement side, they have to respond and ask. The dispatch records the complaint and if nothing is done and subsequently recorded with the dispatch (it's called a resolution in the US) then someone will be held responsible.

I am truly sorry this happened. Overzealous parents I think are to blame..

I will use this thread to cheaply and unethically increase my post count. Damn I feel guilty already.
