Play with water

Getting these little ones to behave so that I can snap some images s such a pain lol. I find easier to puff some smoke, but thought I should insist and get some drops done still.

After several hours managed to get some of these. Still a long way to go to get them to behave in a way I could get some decent shots but I feel I am making some progress .

Any ideas or comments to improve these ones are greatly welcome.

These trials was more to concentrate on the lighting and the timing of the drops. Gosh.. there are so many variables, the size of the hole for the water to come out, the height, the lighting angle, reflections etc, this is definitely a bigger challenge than the smoke ones for me. Well, at least to get them precisely how I would like them anyway.
I am still a long way to get there but have enjoyed trying them so far .

With today's trials I nailed a few things that will allow me now to concentrate on other aspects .

Amin, I kind of like the thought that somewhere in London not far from me (maybe?), your tryin' constantly to get the ultimate smoke, bubble and now drip image.

Other than that, I prefer an angle from above.

I have a few ideas to implement now . Can't wait for another chance to lock myself into the shed again

Thanks Paul, I will try different angles now that I seem to have nailed the lighting and I can have them the way I want .

I have a K20D as well, what lens and settings were you using?

I use Macro lens. I have a 100mm Pentax Macro but sometimes I use it with a 1.7x Pentax TC, which on this particular image I did. But most of my images I just use it without the TC.

On these water droplets I have been experimenting a lot with settings, on this image I used f/32 with an off board flash at an angle. SS at 180 and ISO 200.

But it all depends, I could be shooting anything between f/11 to f/32, depending upon the angle and what I am aiming at. As mentioned its all at experimental stage.

If I have sometime today I am quite eager to continue with this and get some more shots, hopefully better ones
