Found an MX plus a Praktica BCA and a couple of lenses for a decent price.
The MX seems to be in good condition no dents some brassing, so far eveything works but I dont like the sight of those light seals. Fortunately those are easily fixed.
I'm surprised by the price some MXs with non working meters can go for.
Is there a way to check if the seals are ok, ie not affecting the film? Or is the only way by putting a film through?
With the photog society I have access to a lab. I've already had a tutorial on BW. I'm now looking forward to doing my first mistakes so I can finally make my own prints under the amazing scent of the developer

I'd like to know what books you recommend on:
1. color, white balance, exposure (if in the context of lighting/flash even better)
2. composition.
I've read "Langford's Starting Photography", but now want something more directed to these subjects.
Thanks

Yesterday I had the chance to have one in my hands. Its from a colleague at the Photography society from the Uni. Edinburgh.
I loved it, the camera was a like tatty unfortunately, so I dont know if I'll buy it (he has another one and an LX :&). The camera really is smaller, the viewfinder is like nothing I've ever seen, and I found this lovely detail I didn't hear about: you can see the aperture ring from the viewfinder. So you can change setting without taking your eye off it (do it more easily I mean). I dont knwo why but I tought: "that's Pentax for you", it really seemed like a thing Pentax would do...
Am I becoming fanboy or do you agree?...in which case we might all be fanboys.
I must say, with cameras like my K10D and the MX its hard not to be...
I've completely dismissed the idea of getting the ME because its cheaper (just for me... the ME is nice as well!).

One cable is coiled and can stretch up to 1m. The other cable is 1.5m long.
Both have M and F ends.
I also have a small cable I'll include (20cm). With a small jack, I think its 2.5mm and a F sync.
I don't really know the value of these, but I'd say £8 posted?
Or if I'm way of the mark please clue me in.
Cheers

Its hard to get those photos well focused, I know I have lots of trouble, I hope that was it. At 1/1000 th its awfully blurry.
I got this one from a Sigma 70-210mm the first time I took it out for aspin. It isn't a great lens, expecially at the long end. The 55-300mm has to do better than that and better than mine.
I thought that the 55-300mm would be sharper than the tammy 70-300mm but apparently no. But that purple fringing... I need to keep saving for the 55-300mm.

If anyone wants it for parts, be my guest. Trade for a broken or dirty SMC-A (need parts). Or £10 + post.
Take a look:
