Once again I'd completely forgotten about this show - I keep meaning to bring the car up for one day. This year I was at Donington instead, maybe next year I'll do a day at each. Unless I forget again of course.

Our car club had a display stand this year, some good racing and interesting stuff in the paddock, the event was sadly marred by the loss of one driver on Sunday afternoon which, understandably, put an end to racing.

The Dakota flypast was on Friday, Saturday gave us the Lancaster, Spitfire and Hurricane formation that arrived just after I switched to the 18-55 lens, and the Lancaster on its own on Sunday, again on the 18-55.

Cheers. No, not me in Criccieth - those at Llangollen were on Saturday, not Sunday. I do keep meaning to give myself more time and explore more than a few hundred yards either side of the station.

I didn't leave myself a lot of time but it was a nice afternoon. Disappointed to see no platform tickets available, so I had to busy myself with the bridges instead - wasn't worth the cost of a full ticket for the hour or so I was there.

My apologies for not getting in touch to confirm I wasn't coming, I intended to post yesterday and totally forgot. Hope you had a good time, I did manage an hour in Llangollen this afternoon and it was clear.

Maybe next time....

I'm still 50/50 on this, if you can give an idea of some points along the way that I could possibly tag on that would be great.

I had some good results using a Tamron 500mm mirror lens and CIF, on motorsport subjects with the vehicles coming almost directly towards me. Better results than I get with trying to use autofocus in that scenario. Kx, though, not K5.

I hadn't realised the viewing area was still open, might have to take a trip up there when it warms up a bit, just for a change.

I may well have something on the next day that puts paid to it, but either way I wasn't thinking of bringing the Vauxhall. I really do want some nice photos of it in nice locations, but it's a bit early in the season to trek it out into the hills as it's only on the road April-September and needs a bit of time to 'bed in' each year.

This sounds interesting (if open to strangers), but the chances of getting to Llanberis for 9am are pretty slim as I am way too idle to get up early enough. Would there be places to join in part-way through the day?
