I picked up What Digital Camera today and on page 7 they say that www.cameraworld.co.uk are selling Tamron AF 55-200 for £69. That's got to be a good bet for what you are looking for.

I've got a spare Tokina 70-210 AF if you're interested - looking for about £40. Nice lens but heavy by todays standards.

Really depends on: -
a) budget
b) whether you want to swap and change lenses.

If you have a reasonable budget and want a single lense solution you could look at the likes of Tamrons 18-250 for about £275

Alternatively I use a Tamron 70-300 for the telephoto stuff on my K100D - cost me <£100. I really like this lens and it has a useful 1:2 macro. But it's not really suitable as an every day lens as it doesn't go wide enough for most so I have to swap with my kit 18-55.

Finally you could blow the budgt and get a high quality prime (>£1000) or the well regarded sigma 50-500 (£700)

Upto £81 with 5 days still to go.......this is likely to get beyond what I want to spend. Seems daft that this may get well over £100 when a new f1.4 is available for <£150!

Thanks Guys - I did know about SRS and would probably use them for a new - although I have found it for £148 elsewhere.
I don't really "need" a new lense so wanted to keep it as cheap as possible - preferably <£80

As I can't afford a 50mm f1.4 I have been advised my my local camera shop to try and find an f1.7. These were only recently discontinued and were <£100
Any ideas where I might get one - or a reliable cheap secondhand f1.4 (or 1.7)
Must be Autofocus as I already have a f1.4 manual
Cheers

Focusing manually tends not to be a problem - I just half press the shutter release and turn the focussing ring until the camera bleeps and a confirming square appears in the view finder

I was messing about with the bellows last night for about 5 minutes - soooooo much light loss. I'll need to use some really good lighting to be able to get the most out of it - may not bother as the K100D won't fir directly onto it anyway - I need to use a short extension tube as the camera catches on the mount of the bellows.
