After looking at the galleries on flickr for the Pentax and the Sigma I have ordered the Sigma. many thanks to you all for the kind and helpful replies.

Can anyone comment on the CA issue with the 16 - 45, how bad is it, and does it appear in every shot ?

I really appreciate your help here guys, and apologize for so many posts this week, I called SRS and was advised to go for the Pentax, but the salesperson has been using a Sigma yesterday, and was very pleased with it. I don't really think these three are far apart from each other and I am going to look for images from the Pentax and the Sigma, and then decide. Sigma is heavy though compared to the Pentax.

Price is interesting with the Pentax @£199,Sigma @£249 & Tamron @£269, anyone bought any of these and then changed to another of them ? your view would be really appreciated and why.

I have been on another Pentax forum where there are user reviews of each of these, and the Tamron is reported by all as having stunning optics, and being some way in front in terms of sharpness.
