My one mac in my den gets artificial light in the am and indirect sun from north facing windows, most of the day, and later on, alot of direct sunlight from patio doors reflecting off green walls in the evening. I don't work at that computer for critical work even though it was initially clibrated in my studio before being moved to the den.
I use it when web surfing, for bussiness paperwork, quick perusal of my photo library, but usually go into my studio to touch up and print any customer work. remember my main job is Dad for little Mikey and little Mikey is about as helpful around my studio as an untamed monkey.
I'll bet wyswig is great, but what I got works, and that huey is more of a wish for, item, as I personally have no pressing need for it.
but it looks like I'll one day be too lazy to run down stairs to print...he...he..he...

A tremendously time consuming endeaver.
Best to focus on the skin tones or most important subject, use your color cast eye dropper tool and find black/white/grey elements in the scene to get a general color balance.
Then follow the good advice already posted.

open an image file, duplicate layer.
click Under filter>other>high pass. set radius between 5 - 9 for start.
go to layer blending mode and set it to Soft Light.
increase/decrease effect by adjusting opacity.
lots o sharpening with practically no noise!
Non destructive and easy to undo.
Much easier than using Unsharp Mask for newbies that can't tell thier threshholds from thier radiuses.

a) Teaching is Learning.
B) (while holding a cocky student (me) in an arm bar/chokehold..) There's two things you can know for sure...I know everything that I ever taught you...and you''ll never know if I've taught you everything I know....

And the great thing about these Britts is they're polite.
They've been too polite to tell tell me to shut up and go away for months...so I'll forgive them for speaking English so funny.
