I'm not sure if it will make your canon lens sharper, but I suspect it may make your pentax lenses more like cannon kit lenses, wide open.
Seriously though, try it with flowers (spritz flowers with h20/glyceryn solution 80/20, for studio work, and hard lighting). Double exposures (one without difuser one with) and portriats will work fine (how diffused is it? extreme? moderate?)

Well mac it would appear that while a fine performer (astounding for the price) the odds and numbers speak volumes, about build quality, I stand corrected.
BTW wouldn't the 10d and the soon to be released weather sealed lenses be the catz' meow out there in a kayak?

my 28-70 has been through H. E. L.....you get the idea. I've not had that problem....but then my macbook hasn't been frying eggs or shutting itself off, I threw a chain on my 130 hp motorcycle and only need an oil filter housing, chain and sprockets...the list is endless...maybe I'm just a lucky guy....although rumor has it that my guardian Angel has been puttin in for OT and grumbling about starting a union.....
