Don
another way to skin that cat is to convert your image to b&w in PS and then use the history brush to bring back the color to specific areas

when you buy ni-mh, look for 2500 mh, and grab three sets!
(one on the charger, one in your camera bag, one in your camera).
keep them in matching sets and don't mixem up.

my first set has seen countless use and recharges and are still used.

I feel your pain.
I had my mz5 autographed by canadian hockey legend Gordie Howe (during photoshoot). I gave it to my stepson as a christmas present.
It subsequently got stolen from his bedroom, by his (no longer-best friend), friend, and was never recovered. The child was in fostercare, but his real family put him up to stealing, and he'd turned it over to them during a "access Visit" and it was long gone....

correct me if I'm wrong, but wasn't the one of the first 35mm camera, a leica, an instrument for testing snippets off a 35mm film reel for the movie cameras?

people gave up the quality of large format cameras, for the ease of portability of 35 mm cameras.

the portable cams will win. period.

stabilized lenses and inexpensive steadycams, plus the soon to arrive "home" robotics (i'm already working on a robotic camera platform) will bring steady shooting to the masses... with smaller, high res, video cams.

SimonMW, I think you have some valid points, but with news, the ability to shoot video and then pull a stillframe of sufficient quality from the video to publish as a still, is the future.
being able to post the video and the still gives one the best of both worlds, and raises the credibility of the stills, as the video footage, would take considerable more time and effort to fake.
People could verify the context and truthfulness of the stills and therefore be more willing to trust that they weren't "photoshopped, or misleading"
