A small taster taken in the Chapter House on the DPS free night. I arranged access but only David and myself went in.This is a HDR image but there are highlights on the stonework due to the evening sun.

We walked up to the main doors saw the no photography sign and walked away, I wonder how much that loses them a year in admission fees?
Durham do not charge for entry into the Cathedral unlike York.So you could have gone in and discovered why in a nationwide BBC poll held in 2001 it was voted the nation's best-loved building.

A couple of nice ones there Kris.
Although I just shoot digital now these look so different and suited to film.
The top of the font is a problem but there again not many people get the chance to get on the western ledge. I was sent an old photo last night by one of our members who was asked to replicate it in May, it was taken off the ledge maybe a touch to the right from where you stood.
Just out of interest some of the scenes from Harry Potter were shot in the triforium.
Barrie you will get a chance to take some photos in July at the opening of our exhibition, all at ground level though.

If you think age is a barrier have a look here LINK

Just out of interest Durham PS has eleven print competitions and a few less digital ones. Most of the print competitions have a corresponding digital one.

I use Flickr...sometimes and from what I read here they do have a different clause in their terms.
Certainly not stating:

Or anything that even resembles or could be interpreted as the above quote.

Don't worry Barrie, I had that one last year and after a few weeks it vanished just as quick as it appeared. It is just a scam to get you to part with your cash.

If you are talking about Flickr ...you are seriously wrong, I am afraid.
I did not have a clue where it came from as our house is like an internet cafe at times.I use AVG,Zone Alarm and Spybot but it still managed to get through.
