Cheers Nigel.
Yea exposure was an issue as sun was baking down at a horrible angle, every now and again a little cloud would block it for a few secs. But wind was strong so clouds moved fast.
The technique is similar to a pano, but it comprises the whole scene. There were multiple shots just of sky.
It gives a super hi resolution image if your pc can process it.
Mine struggled.

I just cropped this to give some idea of the detail in the shot, you can follow it through to flickr and zoom in

I took a trip down to Hook head lighthouse yesterday, I just love it down there. Its just seems so raw, primal, whatever it is I'd love to get a chance to stay for a bit there.
Hook Head Lighthouse is the oldest operational lighthouse in the world, built over 800 years ago by Knight William Marshall
Anyway, here are a few shots, all with the siggy 70-200mm, a little experimenting with exposures and stitching.
This is a 16 shot stitch, took 2.5 hours for the pc to render it and even flickr doesnt go all the way in on it.

Looking at it on the pc now, and I can see what everyone is saying around the sharpness, but, I still like it, I think it works in this type of look, there seems to be some haloing around his right ear that spoils it a little.
Still great shooting.

I'm only looking at this on my ph. But from what I can see, really like it.
I like the lighting the pose the whole shebang.
That's a face full of character, love it 👏👏👏

I had thought that the snow and frost might have killed these off, but I was delighted when I spotted them re-emerging from their tree trunk burrow yesterday evening. I got a couple of shots today, but the weather was a bit wet and wild.

Some how this guy missed this wave breaking towards him, he wound up with 2 wet feet shortly after. I was chatting to him later on and it was his birthday, said he visits every year on his birthday.
