Has anyone ever ordered the tammy or similar from taiwan? They seem to be much cheaper over there - £227.33 new on ebay at the moment.

That's my feeling too, but I'd take the siggy if it was cheap enough.

I managed to lose my kit lens so I thought it's about time I upgraded it anyway. I think either of the above would make fine replacements and are (probably) within my price range.

It's a great portrait lens that 50mm 1.7, really enjoying it. Manual focus makes you really get the shots right before taking them. I've found that if the composition isn't any good then I'm unable to bother to focus and move on instead of filling up my SD card with rubbish.

That said, I really need to get better at quick focusing.
