Copyright laws won't affect me as I don't photograph public buildings, monuments or other blokes wags or daughters.
I only use my camera to catch the light reflected from them!!!

Hi Defragged

I think it's an excellent lens in every respect, albeit a little larger and heavier than the 17-50 it replaced.

This Gallery Image- NSFW was taken at 1/30s F1.8 handheld, and I got it printed at A1 and it hangs on my landing, and it's pin sharp edge to edge. Can't ask more than that
Thank you for that Timbo,

I'm currently deliberating over the 18-35 art or the Sigma 17-70 f2.8. Whilst the former is very appealing, the latter is more affordable and would probably receive more use, however, the example on your link is a powerful argument for the 18-35 so I shall have to dwell on it a little longer me thinks.

Stunning photograph by the way which I would be proud to hang on my landing... nay... bedroom ceilng!

Kind regards...

Hello timbo,

You mention above that you use the Sigma 18-35 art lens, May I ask you please for your opinion of it?

Sorry if this is the wrong thread to venture the question.

Thanks in advance...

The LX is a fabulous camera. I owned one since the early 1980's and reluctantly parted with it through lack of use after going digital. The sticky mirror syndrome is an easy fix. I had mine serviced twice during the time I owned it and I believe that these days the replacement mirror buffers are of a different material and should not degrade like the originals.

I reckon should get a service for less than a hundred notes but if you have a word with the Pentax Service Centre at Harrow, They will advise you. They are very helpful people and the turn around is quick. link

Persevere and good luck.....

Hello Kayling,

SMC Pentax-A 100mm F2.8 Macro received today, lovingly packed and cared for and in stunning condition. I never thought I would have the pleasure of owning one these, they so rarely appear for sale. It's chunkier than my SMC-A 100mm F4 but far less bulky than my Viv S1 105mm f2.5. It is however a thing of beauty which I can see is going to give me enormous pleasure.

L.B.A. is a good thing sometimes.... lol....

Grateful thanks to you Kay, it's been a delight to trade with you and I wish you all the best with your other sales and your large format adventures.

Kind regards,

Defragged.

Hello,

The Sigma 8-16mm is also very worthy of consideration for indoor shots. It has surprisingly little distortion for such an extreme wide angle lens and is very affordable new.

Have a browse through the 8-16 lens club here link and prepare to be impressed.

Decisions, decisions!

Dear Garybeard333,

I doubt that the dilemma you are experiencing can be resolved by trading your K3 at this point. The difference in price of a used K5 vs used K3 just isn't sufficient enough to justify a trade and the imminent release of K3II is likely to further impact on any potential cash gain. Then there is the irreplaceable emotional value attached to your K3, a gift from someone clearly very dear to you, which may likely way outweigh its monetary value.

Keep your K3 and research a different solution. Somewhere just around the corner, out of sight and out of mind there will be an answer to your problem!!!

Just my twopenneth!!!! Good luck......
