I doubt that the dilemma you are experiencing can be resolved by trading your K3 at this point. The difference in price of a used K5 vs used K3 just isn't sufficient enough to justify a trade and the imminent release of K3II is likely to further impact on any potential cash gain. Then there is the irreplaceable emotional value attached to your K3, a gift from someone clearly very dear to you, which may likely way outweigh its monetary value.
Keep your K3 and research a different solution. Somewhere just around the corner, out of sight and out of mind there will be an answer to your problem!!!

i dont think i agree. looking at ebay k3's tend to for around £490-£550 depending on condition, and mine is practically new and K5's tend to gof for between £200-£250.
So realistically i could sell the K3 for say £500 buy a good K5 for £250, and have £250 to go towards my studio equipment.

Recently i have had a wave of hardware failures in the studio and i need to replace it all so ive had to consider my options.
My wonderful partner bought me a K3 for christmas so its only 4 months old and has taken just 1177 shots since i got it.
No photos yet as i am just testing the water, but i am considering selling the K3 and buying a used K5 or K5 ii as i feel that a K5 would be good enough for me for use for my hobby. So possibly a part exchange could be possible.
So basically i am wondering if this is what i should do. So id love to hear from people to see what offers i would get for the K3 (body only, boxed etc) or what part exchange offers people might me willing to offer.
In a sad place today guys. Choices suck.
