But surely the SR requires a focal length input only to calculate the approx magnification and hence the shake? This would be more with extension tubes, teleconverters etc so why isn't more SR needed in the algorithm calculation when they are added?

It is true about DOF with the Raynox -250 and to a lesser extent with the 150. The results are surprisingly good though and it's certainly practical taking just a few seconds to whack it on or off.

Some very good points there and I imagine that is the way it is.

I guess you probably have read these already:-

Looks good.

There is an adapter on Ebay for Konica so I guess just keep searching and see if a Pentax one comes up.

It's hard to estimate the economics of it but you would think with all the overhead costs of research and manufacture of the optics already taken care of, fitting a PK mount which they have experience of, would easily be covered by the number of extra sales. Perhaps their market research shows otherwise.

I've tried a load of Tamron Adaptalls and have found them great, even the non-SP's can be good. The 103A 80-210 is great and light and has good macro. I agree about the 19AH - very highly rated in this quarter as well

I wonder if Tamron have any intention of releasing the 200-500mm SP in Pentax mount? I mean they do several other lenses in PK. I saw someone with it today and it is considerably smaller and lighter than the big Sigma 500mm zooms. It costs about £675 and seems to get good reviews. Doesn't have OS but that's not a problem for us.

Thanks for the advice. I have previously made a claim on my house insurance when I dropped my camera on the kitchen floor. It wasn't clear (AXA) exactly what was covered but I think I need their personal items cover as well to be covered when travelling etc. Incidentally, you do have to be careful when only partially covering equipment or you may find you will only be paid out in proportion to the total value you had, unless each item is insured individually.

I am thinking of insuring my equipment as it seems cheaper than I thought. I know my household insurance gives me some cover but i want something more extensive for an amateur. I found E&L insurance for 2.5K cover for about £6 per month. I notice it doesn't cover losing items. Is this usual - I am a bit concerned about leaving a lens or something in a hide.

I got a cheap Chinese adaptor off eBay and it's fine. I'm sitting here wondering why I didn't just get a spare battery though
