Of course. I see the problem. You can't just shorten the interval as you need the long exposure.

To be fair the example pics are hardly ones where you need AF at all!

Part of it could be down to currency exchange rates, part of it could be down to Ricoh putting up the trade prices substantially. We'll never know the ultimate reason for the hike.

From a personal standpoint, I was considering trading my DA35 Macro in for the 100 WR Macro, but might end up looking at the Tamron 90mm Macro as an alternative. I'd rather have the Pentax, but the cost might count against it.
-------------------------------------------------
I would, especially as all the Macros are pretty good quality. Perhaps things were better in that sense when Pentax were less successfull and there seemed to be more bargain basement sales. What are the chances of me getting a DA 55-300 for £135 from Amazon, A 100 DFA WR Macro from Jessops for £299 or an AF-360FGZ flash from Curry's for £99 again?
Those days may have gone.

Fantastic Bjorn. Having had my first experience of them in Iceland in March it just makes you want to see them more. These time lapses are much nicer than the ones I saw headlining on Yahoo News.
I wonder if you could half the interval for a smoother video for perfection?
I really wish I'd thought of timelapse at the time but I wasn't into it and I found at -9C I wasn't thinking that clearly!

The points mentioned in this thread have convinced me to go for a K3 but I'm going to hold off a couple of months until the price falls and any bugs have been ironed out.

Will it though if it sells well? Maybe it will fall by £100 when the PX offer goes? I wonder if anyone has done a profile of Pentax DSLR prices with time. My impression was that there is that first drop but then prices more or less stabilise.

It happens every now and again with my K30. My attitude was basiclly "it's a computer" so nothing surprising. Removing and replacing the battery fixed it but I must admit if I was doing a wedding or something important it would unnerve me.

If the new features suit you more in the K3 the big question will be can yuo afford the extra £300 for them which is usually the biggest dilemma!

Sadly the K-01, Q and MX-1 don't have viewfinders, but when it comes to DSLR's though, nothing could give me more pleasure than to be shooting with a (Ricoh) Pentax, wonderful cameras.

As it is their future is assured, thanks to Ricoh.

I always found it odd that so few cameras kept a simple viewfinder. it seems to be the most wanted feature by everyone over 50, the ones with the disposable incomes!

Well I am more enthusiastic about this upgrade than any of my previous three. (I did the K30 not the K5 on a value for money basis only). I'm a bit sad that I won't have had any of the K5 variants because I know how good they are and that was going to be my next move before the K3 came out. I will be getting a K3 soon, it's just a question of how long I can last out!
