Absolutely everything across that horizon is in pairs, two bits of building mirroring each other, two people, two vertical poles, two more people and even the poles in the very far distance are a pair of pairs, one behind the other! There are, however, five crows, to be sure, to be sure. Fantastic picture that repays careful examination.

It really evokes that 'wet - cold' feeling when you are out in it. As to Ansel Adams, if you visit the George Hotel at Chollerford, Northumberland, they have quite a collection of his original prints taken in the snow around Hadrian's Wall.

I particularly like the contrast with the absolute black behind it all - and then you notice the grasshopper.
