If you go to a tree they are using as a roost, wait until someone else walks past and give the tree trunk a whack with your hand. (and ensure that you are very close to the trunk to avoid the result). Oh, we were horrid little boys !

Ireally don't know how you do it. There is a gang of these that flit from branch to branch in the acer tree. No sooner do you get one lined up than it's gone.
