Two difficulties: It's hard to secure that sort of shot and, you need a shiny clean bauble to do it. Full marks on both counts!

I don't think so - Agreed you had to be there at that moment but then you have to decide on the composition (which is far from a typical one), set the exposure for the right effect and then choose where to focus.
